The Danida Centre believes that research results do not only deepen academic understanding in the field, but also provide guidelines for effective export strategies of individual firms and for developing macro-level policies that will improve the conditions under which internationalization enhances economic growth. Thus, the mandate of the Danida Centre is to promote research into various aspects of the internationalisation processes of firms. In recent times, research has focused on, but not exclusively, internationalisation of Ghanaian firms exporting non-traditional products. It is expected that the knowledge generated at the Danida Centre would benefit researchers, policy makers, as well as managers of exporting firms.

In addition to these, the Centre is also committed to contributing to the development of core research staff in international business, at the University of Ghana Business School. In this regard, one of the Centre’s objectives is to make it possible for academic staff to enroll in doctoral programmes.
