Department of Marketing
The Department of Marketing offers courses leading to the following certifications:
Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Marketing option): The duration is 3 or 4 years depending on the applicant’s background and preparation. Students are required to take courses in other business disciplines.
Master of Business Administration (Marketing Option): This is a two-year rigorous course. In the first year students take courses in all areas of business administration. In the second year, in addition to courses in marketing and other areas, students also write a two-semester “long-essay” under supervision. Students with a good first degree in any area are admittable.
Master of Philosophy (Marketing option): This is also a two-year rigorous course in business administration focusing on marketing. The emphasis is research and students spend the entire second year in the programme writing an M. Phil Thesis under supervision.
Executive Master of Business Administration (Marketing Option): This is a two-year rigorous but flexible evening programme. The programme is aimed at working senior level officers. Classes typically run from 6 pm – 9 pm, most days of the week. Course content is similar to that of regular MBA but class interactions are deeper and more workplace experience is brought to bear. Plans are underway to introduce the Doctor of Philosophy degree.
